Who can enter?Spirit of Free Beer is open to all homebrewers. Enter early and enter often. Beers must be brewed at home. No beers brewed in a commercial brewery will be accepted, however, beer brewed in a BOP is accepted. What can I enter?Spirit of Free Beer XX will include all BJCP categories for beer, mead, and cider. How much does it cost?$6 for each entry There is no limit on the number of entries. In addition, multiple entries per sub-category are allowed. However, if you enter multiple beers into one sub-category, please use different beer names to differentiate your entries. When do I enter?Entries are accepted beginning Friday, April 09, 2010 and are due no later than Friday, May 07, 2010. You may also bring your entries to the May 8 BURP meeting (for directions, contact the Membeersip Director). Out of town judges may hand-carry entries if their registration paperwork is received by the Registrar by the Friday, May 07, 2010 due date. What kind of bottles are eligible?3 bottles are required per entry. 10 to 14 ounce beer bottles. Brown longnecks are preferred, but green or clear will be accepted. Please, no labels, no raised markings, no painted labels, no Grolsch type swing tops, and no growlers. Caps must be free of markings or marked out. Please do not ask us to return bottles or shipping materials. What Style Guidelines are you using?In accordance with BJCP regulations for sanctioning we are required to use the style guidelines published July 1, 2004 and updated in 2008 which are the only official BJCP style guidelines.
