The meeting on Sat, Apr 16 features the Spirit of Free Beer Awards Ceremony and the opportunity for all BURP members and competition participants to drink the beers left over from the competition. BURP Grand Master beer judge Tom Cannon plans to repeat his tutored tasting of some of these competition beers during the meeting. Don’t miss this opportunity to sample a number of competition-worthy beers, ciders, and meads and learn the subtle differences that judges look for when evaluating these beverages.
There are no current plans to offer an educational session at the May meeting as this event will feature the club’s annual Chili Cook-Off (and “Best Beer to go with Chili” competition). But this could change if an educational opportunity comes forth that’s promising. Stay tuned to the BURP website for updates.
Ongoing Education and Free Beer: We also want to promote opportunities to brew with members and learn from each other. If you brew at the Aaronridge brewery, there may even be an opportunity to take 5 gallons home on the condition that a growler or 2 comes to a meeting.
